Market Awaiting NVDA Earnings
NVDA Update: On the subject of the elephant in the room, the reaction to NVDA Earnings certainly is casting a huge shadow on the markets into tomorrow evening's report.
From what I have been reading, for Jensen Huang and NVDA to clear the obligatory very high bar for Earnings, the company will have to excite investors with improvements in the forthcoming Rubin server rack that entail more compute, more efficient energy usage, and enhanced cooling ability embedded within each Rubin chip.
In other words, NVDA will price Rubin higher, but the technological advances embedded within Rubin will leapfrog over all predecessor and competitive chip designs, and will justify greater demand, wider profit margins, and gargantuan revenues out another two years.
Will such "excitement" be enough to outweigh concerns about circular financing that has investors nervous about the escalating cost of the AI buildout? Who knows? Perhaps we will find out Wednesday evening.
Technically, NVDA's multi-day, 9.4% pullback from 227.92 (8/17/26) to 206.66 (8/24/26) has the right look of a near-term pivot low ahead of Earnings tomorrow night. My preferred price path into and in reaction to Earnings is demarcated by the thick green and red dashed lines on my attached 4-Hour Chart. My less anticipated price paths are demarcated by the thin dotted lines.
Bottom Line Technically: Unless the reaction to NVDA presses the stock below critical intermediate-term support at 188 to 195, I am expecting one of the dashed or dotted line scenarios to emerge after Earnings, all of which point to the potential run to new ATH-territory of 245-250... Last is 211.05...
